TAP Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Technology Assurance Program?
The Striker Technology Assurance Program provides you with quick-and-easy access to the latest Striker software, tools, and information. It is an annual subscription that guarantees the latest releases of your Striker software will be sent directly to you within 30 days of customer ship.
Who is the Technology Assurance Program for?
The Technology Assurance Program is for all Striker Systems customers in the US and Canada.
What are the benefits of the Technology Assurance Program to customers?
Convenience: Automatic delivery of upgrades and updates means you never have to worry about purchasing, budgeting for, or tracking down new releases.
Productivity: Your subscription increases your productivity by giving you early access to the latest, most powerful software. Included are full running "trial versions" off all Striker products.
mplementation Control: Free delivery of upgrades separates the implementation decision from the purchase decision, allowing you to implement your Striker software when the time is right.
Cost Planning: The Technology Assurance Program eliminates the uncertainty usually associated with upgrade budgeting.
Does subscribing to the Technology Assurance Program guarantee that Iwill receive an upgrade within the subscription term?
You will receive all minor updates and major upgrades released during the term of your subscription. Striker Systems has historically released minor updates every 90 to 120 days and major upgrades every 12 to 18 months.
How does the Technology Assurance Program differ from other"maintenance" programs I have heard about?
Many software companies require their customers to purchase their maintenance program to maintain the latest software release. Often penalties are even assessed if the maintenance program lapses. Striker Systems does not force the Technology Assurance Program. Rather, it is offered as an alternative method of upgrading for customers who prefer this structure.
Can I still purchase Striker Software upgrades without the TechnologyAssurance Program?
Yes, Striker software upgrades can still be purchased as released. However, this method of upgrading does not provide the additional benefits of the Technology Assurance Program.
Do Technology Assurance Program customers get any telephone support?
The Technology Assurance Program can be purchased with or without telephone support. Telephone support may also be purchased separately.
Why doesn't the Technology Assurance Program automatically providetelephone support?
In surveys and market validation meetings, customers expressed that they were not always interested in purchasing bundled support and maintenance contracts from Striker Systems. Many Striker customers are self-sufficient and have a variety of support sources available (resellers, other users, the Internet).
How can I purchase a Technology Assurance Program subscription?
Technology Assurance Program subscriptions are sold directly by Striker Systems. To purchase a subscription, simply contact Striker Systems at (800) 950-7862 for pricing.
What is the cost of a Technology Assurance Program subscription?
The Technology Assurance Program is priced per software module for each license of Striker Systems and supporting Autodesk software that you own. To insure you are receiving valid pricing, simply contact Striker Systems at (800) 950-7862.
Are there special requirements for joining the Technology AssuranceProgram?
There are a couple of requirements for joining
You must own the current version of the product for each license you put on subscription. For example, if you are on Release 12 of a Striker product you cannot join the Technology Assurance program and expect to get the latest release. You must be on the current release when you join the program.
All seats of a network license must be put on subscription
Can I buy a subscription for an older version of a product, such asStriker Release 2000?
No. You can only purchase a subscription for the current shipping version of the software. Older versions of software must be updated to the latest shipping version before the Technology Assurance Program can be added.
Do I need to put all of my licenses of Striker software onsubscription?
This is not a requirement of the Technology Assurance Program. However, the upgrades and add-ons delivered under the Technology Assurance Program can only be used in conjunction with licenses that are on subscription.
Can I add more users to my subscription agreement?
Yes. New seats can be added to a subscription at any time. They are synchronized with the anniversary date of the original contract, prorated quarterly.
Can I delete some users from my subscription agreement?
Yes. At the end of each year you can decrease the number of seats or completely cancel the contract.
How do I pay for Technology Assurance Program subscription?
Payment for initial subscription orders will be made directly to Striker Systems. Bills for subsequent years of coverage will be sent to you annually by Striker Systems, approximately 30 days prior to the anniversary date of your subscription agreement.
How will I be billed for future years of Technology Assurance Programcoverage?
Approximately 30 days prior to the anniversary date of your subscription agreement, Striker Systems will send you notifications confirming the number of licenses under subscription and the price for your next year of coverage.
Do I have to pay for shipping costs?
All upgrades released during the subscription term will be sent free of charge. Upgrades will be sent to the attention of your designated site coordinator specified at the time of your purchase.
